Whoa, Big Bird!

I believe this to be a juvenile Red-Shouldered Hawk Buteo lineatus, I saw something out of the corner of my eye jumped and then reached for the camera to take the shot.  I was allowed just one photo of this beauty, no retakes.

Today is a day for collecting my thoughts and gathering things up for a weekend with my daughter. I missed her yesterday, instead of taking a nap she elected to play in her room and wouldn't come out until dinner! It was lonely, but I quilted.

This is a rare sight indeed.  Showing off that beautiful white belly always means our Gal Tiny wants to play.  I was allowed four takes for this one and it was a good thing too because the camera was on the wrong setting for the first two photos.

We saw a red hawk at my mom's house one day. It is odd seeing such large birds up close.

That bird is HUGE! I would've been freaked out. Miss Tiny is adorable. I'm sorry Jessica wouldn't play with you. Brandon does that to me too.
