I have used glue ...Your Dresden pillow is gorgeous! I have used glue sticks for various jobs and don't have a problem with them gumming up the needle. I use a thin smear of a childrens glue stick (Elmers?)rather then Pritt which is too sticky and can leave blobs. QuiltSue is right - you should test it out first to see if it works on your fabric.
